Amber Ehrlich is Founder of The Tidy Bungalow. Trained by Marie Kondo, author of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and host of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix, she is one of 200 Certified KonMari Consultants internationally. Amber, currently recognized as a Silver-level KonMari Consultant, works with her clients to declutter, organize and create joyful space.
Alongside clients in their homes, Amber guides them through the KonMari Method. As they tackle each category in the home – clothing, books, paper, komono (miscellany) and sentimental – it becomes a practice of mindfulness as the question, “Does this spark joy?” is considered for each item. Through this practice, the client’s vision of their home and life come into being. The work is often emotional, and Amber finds herself both crying and laughing alongside her clients.
Beyond KonMari, Amber helps businesswomen keep on top of their full schedules without getting lost in their to-do lists. The line between work and home, business and personal, is so faint these days. With near-24/7 demands on our time, she is thrilled to offer a program to get everything out of our over-scheduled, overwhelmed minds and into a system that’s quick, easy-to-use and accessible from darn-near everywhere.
Amber is well-versed in being an organized, overcommitted and overwhelmed professional. Working full-time in corporate communications while also leading a non-profit provided endless opportunities to learn, develop new skills and run all-out. It also provided the perfect recipe for burnout. She felt out of control and her home looked it.
After so many years running at 150%, she descended into depression and anxiety. Amber left corporate with one mission: to regain – and maintain – her mental health. In additional to counseling, group therapy, telling her story without shame, fighting against the stigma of mental healthcare and being an advocate of taking care of yourself first, she tidied her home as her ultimate act of self-care.
Amber connects with her clients in the moments of life that can be the most emotionally challenging. The KonMari Method has been key in her journey to rediscover what sparks joy and create a life she is proud of and grateful to walk in each day. She believes you can tidy anything with the proper system and support.
Amber, a graduate of ASU, lives in a 1935 Bungalow with her five cats. She enjoys her tidy home including an Airstream (named Zoe) which lives in the backyard and hosts guests from around the world.
